BLET - Division 269

Representing the Men and Women of The Long Island Rail Road and The New York & Atlantic Railway

The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET), formally the International Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers (BLE), is a Division of the Rail Conference of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT). The BLE, founded as The Brotherhood of the Footboard on May 8th, 1863 in Marshall, Michigan, was the senior national labor organization in the United States and also North America's oldest rail labor union when it merged with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and became the BLET on January 1st, 2004.

Local units of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen are known as Divisions and the BLET is comprised of 602 Divisions - 522 in the US and 80 in Canada.
